"As an artist, I do not need to be rich but I do need to be richly supported."
                                                                                                                                          Julie Cameron
This past week I was discussing with a group of people the importance of having the support of others when you are creating something new.  It does not matter if it is a painting, a story, or a new business venture most people appreciate and want the support of others.  We want to know that what we do matters and makes a difference to those we know.  We are all creative beings. It is when we share what we are creating with others that it makes it easier for them to share with us.  Building that bond and connection with other creative people can be intimidating at first but becomes easier and easier as we realize that many people are open to and excited about what we are creating.  The creative journey can be lonely but it can also be fun and rewarding when we share it with people who support what we are doing.  If you know someone is in the process of creating something new, let them know that you are interested in what they are doing.  I know that it will mean alot to them.  It does to me!

Ginny thanks for the post on my blog. It is so great to get a boost from comments. I appreciate it. I sure believe in synchronicity... I can tell you things are happening in my life and I am amazed at it. I was told that it is because I am working on it... I believe the more I do ... ie affirmations, journalling etc.... the more is being worked out in my life. Thanks for the support. Lucy

That is so true! I strongly hold to this belief. And you've put it so well in this post.

Upon reading Julia Cameron's words on this regard in the introduction of the book, I felt sad for myself because I realized that I am sorely lacking in this kind of support in my daily life. Thankfully I have found it in our online blogging community. It later hit me that, rather than feel sorry for myself about what's lacking, I should try to find ways to be that to others. That in this way it will come into my life, as well. I love that if we listen, there's some pretty good advice being whispered to us by our own inner guidance or divine inspiration - however one chooses to see it.

What you said was so very true. I guess that is why I blog - I so appreciate the support I have received from so many people.

So true! One of the great things about the internet and the blogosphere is how supportive and kind everyone is. And we can make connections with others like I am right now, thanks to Paula!

Cheers to you!

So true, creating without sharing or having support just isn't fun and can be lonely. I always enjoy your beautiful posts.
