A night at the lake
It is Friday once again and time to reflect on the special or happy moments I experienced this week. I love water.  The other night we went to the lake for a quick supper and to just enjoy looking at the water.  I took this picture as we sat quietly just enjoying the scenery and I really like it.  I have found that my vision and what I see is different than many people.  I tend to see the big picture and not all of the small details that can make something very interesting.  But, as I am becoming more comfortable taking pictures I am also noticing the details that I used to miss.  So being at the lake, taking pictures and seeing the details made and continues to make me really happy.  I hope everyone has a great week full of happy moments.

The more we take photographs, the more engaged we become with our subjects and the more alive we are. You are truly learning how to see. Isn't it exciting? I love photographing water, I miss it. Beautiful shot!

Reading your post furnished a desire in me to go to a lake and sit and listen to the gently lapping water. When I was young we used to go to the English Lake District (Beatrix Potter land) nearly every summer. It is stunningly beautiful. I haven't been back for ages and miss the power of all that water and scenery.

Ginny, your photo is lovely...I almost feel like I'm there. Photography has changed the way I see the world and it's been such a blessing. The more photos I take, the more I am able to see the beautiful textures, lines, and shapes of things. Keep snapping away! Have a wonderful weekend!

Ginny, I love this photo! It is so peaceful, you can almost hear the small night noises, and feel the air. May that peace follow you through your week to come.

We were at the Lake wed night. Love to go out around 6pm, have a glass of wine, some food, and watch the sunset. We were so at peace and lost in time we didn't get out until about 11:30pm. That is a great picture you got.

The water is such a peaceful, happy, renewing presence. I just had a short ferry ride today, and loved watching the people on the boat light up with smiles and take out their cameras as soon as we started moving. Photography sounds like a wonderful immersion into seeing and noticing. May the week bring more beautiful sights to you!
