Friday's Special Moments of Gratitude

Life is full of ups and downs.  But I have found that when I recognize and concentrate on those very special positive moments and events, they seem to take over and the downs don't seem nearly as important.  For several months on Friday, I have written about just a few of the special moments that occured during the week and that I am grateful for experiencing.  This practice has quickly become a habit that I don't intend to break.  This week just a few of the special moments that I am grateful for are:

A telephone call with my grandson who was so proud that he was now going to kindergarten in the "big school".  As a former kindergarten teacher I was not surprised that his favorite thing was time on the playground.
Cool summer mornings on the backporch where I read a great mystery.
Tea with a friend who shared all the wonderful things that she learned at a writer's conference.
Painting a thank you note.  It was fast, fun, and if I do say so myself turned out pretty good.
Beautiful and delicious tomatoes from a friend's garden.
Sharing an empty beach at the lake with my husband on a breezy morning.  He ran his boat while I read.
Hearing from friends on facebook or comments on my blog letting me know what special moments they experienced.
Laughing

I would love to know what special moments you experienced and are grateful for this week.  It would be so much fun to see this movement grow and grow.  It is exciting to see the world through positive eyes and to share that view with others.

Your Friday posts always make me smile. :)
My summary (there are more things): hubbie won a contract he worked very hard to get, the kids are happy at school, I´m feeling the energy of friendships bubbling both on and off line.
Just a little note to let you know that Lucy seems to be unable to get to your blog and comment. She´ll keep trying. :)

I loved the moments you shared:~)

Mine are:
Completing an application to join a local writers' critique group.
Remembering to exercise
Enjoying late-late afternoon 'wrap up the day' sessions with my boyfriend.
Laughing at something silly I had done.

You are right it is good to put these down in writing:~)

Ah, what a pleasure to read your gratitude posts. Let's see, mine for this week are:

Gaining a sense of returning clarity
Feeling good shifts taking place within
Much good communication with online buddies
Receiving a couple of really good inspirations for things I want to follow through on
Looking forward to a family get-together tomorrow.

Thanks for getting me in gratitude mode!

Hey, Ginny, I came over from Sara's blog----I don't think my sign-up took, although it said it did. :( Technology!

Anyhow, the moments I am grateful for are the times in my studio when I am on a roll and paint is just flying and my favorite music is playing---magic!

I also love walking with my best friend/neighbor in the morning when it is cool (we don't do as well in the heat, especially this hot summer)..we take bags of dog food (organic stuff) to feed the dogs we see along the way if the owners permit. So dogs LOVE to see us coming and just about go nuts till we feed them their treats!

I also like it when the power is out after a storm (but not for too long) and I can't watch TV or mess with the 'puter or talk on the phone! I have a little lantern that I read by and I am snug and cosy and happy to be freed from all the modern thingies that we get so hooked on

I also love to watch the fireflies rise up out of the ground in early evening in the summertime.

There are so many more, but that is enough for now!
