Friday's Special Moment of Gratitude

"Its impossible" said pride.  "Its risky" said experience.  "Its pointless" said reason.  "Give it a try" whispered the heart."

When I read the above quote on Pinterest it seem to speak to me in a very quiet way.  We all have those little voices inside of us that often keep us from giving something new a try.  But I have found when I listen to my heart and do what I love to do things often turn out just as they should.  Is there something that you would love to try?  Maybe today is the day to listen to your heart and give it a try.

It's Friday, time to reflect on the week that is quickly flying by.  Several weeks ago I mentioned that I was encouraged by my art teacher to try better pastels and paper.  Several of you encouraged me to do just that and so I decided to give it a try.  I will have to say it did make a difference in the way that pastels went on the paper and the way that I felt when painting.  I loved pastels even when I wasn't using the best materials but my experience this week was fun and enlightening.  So this week I am very grateful to everyone who took the time to encourage me to give my new materials a try. I think you have just helped me open a door to a whole new way of painting.

I would love to know what you are grateful for this week and if there is anything new your heart is telling you to try!

Please take a moment to visit the artists at Paint Party Friday and Creative Every Day.  I know they would love to meet you.

I love that quote too, Ginny! It's fun to see how you are exploring this new direction and creating so many lovely pieces. This one is simple but very evocative. I am still learning to use my iphone, so that's how I've been spending my creative energy. Have a lovely weekend!

I love the simplicity of this design. I have tried pastels, both chalk and oil and know it is not the easiest medium to work with but you have done a great job! This week I am grateful for my wonderful boyfriend, today is our one year anniversary. Without him so many things that I have gotten to see and do this past year would not have been possible. Including the oil paints I was able to purchase with the gift cards he gave me for both Christmas and my birthday. He's the best for sure!

Soft and lush landscape. Makes me think of an area near my home by the sea and the sea grasses swaying in the ocean. Happy PPF. xox

I love the soft colors in your painting, they make it very calm and peaceful.
Every painting I start is a new try - sometimes it's doomed from the very beginning, sometimes it evolves into something that is beyond my vision. Almost never it turns out the way I had thought at the beginning. It's a new adventure every time I try.
And for being grateful - I am grateful and relieved that the pulmonary nodule that was found in my husband's lungs is benign. The most beautiful word...

that is a terrific quote - how many times I have been intimidated by the fearful inner voice. Lovely pastel landscape - you should be very pleased by the way it turned out. HPPF
