Friday's Special Moment of Gratitude

It is cold and windy and the rain is hitting the windows.  It's a perfect night to stay home and wrap presents or read a book. I love this time of year.  I like the colored lights, the Christmas trees, and the songs that play on the radio.  I like to drink a hot cup of tea with a cookie or two or maybe three. And I like to think about the year that is almost over and what I have accomplished.

This year many of the blogs I read suggested ways to celebrate the year that is almost over before moving on. Many of them suggested questions that you can ask yourself such as," What is something that you would like to bring with you into 2013 that you did in 2012?"  That one is easy for me.  I want to continue to create.  I want to play more with my pastels and learn about other mediums as well.  As we get closer and closer to the new year, I am so grateful for all of the things that I have experienced and learned throughout 2012.  Each year brings with it new opportunities and new challenges. Both have given me opportunities to stretch and grow.  For that I am very grateful.   What are you most grateful for this week?

I want to wish everyone a very happy holiday season.  I hope that you take time to enjoy each and every very special moment!

Please take a minute to visit all of the wonderful artists at Paint Party Friday and Creative Every Day.  It is a wonderful way to start the weekend.

What a sweet painting and wonderful sentiment in your post. A child running out to play in the snow is a great example of enjoying the moment!!

Ginny, your painting is lovely, delicate and so wintery. Beautiful. I am the most grateful this week for time to rest, to paint, to be closer with myself. Have a lovely weekend.

Your painting is a perfect winter wonderland! I love how you described the cosy feeling of being indoors with the twinkly lights and the Christmas songs while the winter weather does its worst outdoors! 2012 has turned out to be the year we embarked on fulfilling our dream of living in a cottage in the country and I can't wait to begin the New Year to start our new lives and get to spend much more time painting and creating.

Love the painting...I feel his joy and wonderment about all that beautiful snow! I'm glad I drew all year long in public places and created a book of those drawing/paintings. I hope lots of people will hold and enjoy it too! I hope I can continue creating again in the coming year! I want a second and a third book! HPPF and happy new year!

Your painting took me back to my childhood days of happy sledding -- spent hours in the cold going up and down the hill, and then went in for hot chocolate. Good memories! It's good to look back on our accomplishments and congratulate ourselves for everything we did.

I love that you focused on the bringing the good of 2012 into 2013. (A lot of people talk about the things they need to change, but I love the alternate perspective!) Rejoice for another year well done. Hurray 2013! Merry Christmas, and I love your art of a child enjoying snow!

I love what you are wanting to take into the new year and that you are open to what it might bring.
The snowy cold quality of your artwork is wonderful! It feels like winter.
I am so grateful for everyday and for these new connections.
Happy PPF!
