Friday's Special Moment of Gratitude

It is interesting how fuzzy this painting photographed no matter how many times I took it or what I changed. I started this painting in an art class on Monday and then changed it once I got home.  I'm not sure I am finished.  I think I will let it sit awhile and see how I feel about it in a week or so.  This is something new for me.  In the past, once I started a painting I always felt like I had to finish it right away.  But I have learned that sometimes it helps to walk away and come back with fresh eyes.
Several weeks ago my husband and I started taking Qi Gong classes and that is what I am most grateful for this week.  It is a wonderful experience that both strengthens and relaxes you at the same time. I can go to class feeling tired and grumpy and leave feeling full of energy yet calm and peaceful at the same time.  I love not only the movements but the visualizations and the sounds that you make.  I am so grateful that there is always something new to learn and then to share with others.  Qi Gong is definitely something that I would recommend to anyone.
Each Friday I link my post to  Paint Party Friday wonderful site to visit.

Hello Ginny, it's great to be able to let a painting rest, at some point you'll have a vision or maybe not...or you might just add things without really thinking and let your creative juices flow. It's a lovely peaceful scene, your art makes me feel calm and peaceful. So happy you are enjoying Qi Gong. I'm enjoying yoga at the moment "Kundalini" with Maya Fiennes, very good too. Have a wonderful week-end! xx

Beautiful painting, that is wonderful that you have learnt the way of going with the motions and seeing when you are ready to stop and return. It is very important to listen to how one feels. Pleased to hear you are enjoying Qi Gong. It's my favorite practice even if I don't do it anymore. I trained in it last year, and did it every morning after I woke up. I love that it's a good way to harness the energy and to connect with the cycles of nature, to the earth and the sky and it's a very natural process because we are always connected to these elements and just brings us back into line and awareness.x

It's lovely to stop by, and wishing you and your family a beautiful weekend.

hi Ginny! I've heard nothing but good things about Qigong. What a wonderful thing to do with your husband. The pastel painting is great... I almost feel the quietness. xox
