Friday's Special Moment of Gratitude

It's Friday time to celebrate with the artists at Paint Party Friday.  I really look forward to visiting all of the artists to see what they have created each week.  I have learned so much from them and I am always grateful for their comments and support.  When I was a young teacher (many many years ago) the teacher in the room next door was always there when I needed her.  We laughed together, shared ideas, and became really good friends.  We still are.  Now, I feel just like I did way back then only the support and friendship I need comes from people who understand what it feels like to share something you have created with the world.  For me, it has been a wonderful experience because of the kindness I have found in the blogging community and for that I am very grateful.

The above painting is a work in progress.  I usually hurry to finish so I will have something to post on Friday.  But I am learning that it is important to take my time and really think about what I am painting.  I love the colors in this piece and I want to finish it slowly and enjoy the creative process.  I remember the first day I stood in front of a classroom and really felt like a teacher.  I think I may be slowly working towards the day I really feel like an artist.  It's exciting to see it coming.  And that is something else I am grateful for this week. I can see some progress in my work and I am not afraid to say so!
I would love to know what you are most grateful for this week.

It's fun to follow your blog and see your evolution as an artist. How great that you're almost ready to shout out "I am an artist!"

I am grateful for the supportive blogging community that we share and the friends I have made around the world. Have a wonderful weekend, Ginny!

Your posts are always so thoughtful and positive. It's great that you're following your own pace rather than trying to force a finish. I always enjoy seeing WIP's. Your piece is looking very nice so far!

WOW! This is already beautiful. Can't wait to see it finished. I'd say you are already an artist, whether you feel ready to say it out loud or not.

I must agree- there is something so special about the PPF group. The softness of your pastel work is so beautiful- it's neat to see the "rubbed in" parts and the "not rubbed in" parts. I love the way it gives it a variety of texture. As you can tell I am not a pastel using person often and don't know the technical lingo...

This piece is coming along beautifully. You are right that it is important to enjoy the process and not rush through. You are already an Artist, no need to wait for the day :) Happy PPF

I couldn't agree with you more - I love the online community of artists that I've met through PPF. I really like this piece - the softness of the water - you can almost feel the ocean spray! the colours are lovely. This week I'm grateful that it's Friday as the working week was very trying!!

Good for you for enjoying the process AND for knowing you will get to the point where you are comfortable saying you are an artist! (I'm already calling you an artist, btw!)

Ginny, this work in progress is wonderful! I just love the colors - it reminds me of a beautiful mountain stream in the woods somewhere. Clear and full of energy and beauty! Gorgeous!! xo Silke
