Friday's Special Moment of Gratitude

It is Friday.  When I was working Friday was always special because that meant the weekend was coming.  Now, it means Paint Party Friday.  I look forward to visiting all of the many talented artists each week.  I love to look at their work and it is so nice to receive their support.
Friday is also the day I write about what I am grateful for that week.  This week I am grateful for the Art Camp I am going to.  We meet each Monday for four weeks.  Each week is devoted to learning just a little about a different artist and their style of painting.  We also use a different medium each week.  This week we used chalk pastels.  I had used them before and I did not like them.  But in this class I really enjoyed working with them.  I am so grateful to Shawn, my friend and instructor, for encouraging me to loosen up and to add more color.
I am also grateful to Kat Sloma for her wonderful online photography class, A Sense of Place.  I am learning so much about myself and the way I take pictures.  If you are interested in a wonderful photography class and teacher, this is the place for you.  The picture below shows a place I love to visit.
Creatively this has been a great week.  And, if you have been following me lately at all you know we have been going through  major construction.  It looks like the elevator may be in by the beginning of next week.  That will make life so much better for my husband who has a rare breathing problem.  It also means that the stairs will no longer be a problem and that we can enjoy the house we love for many more years to come.  For all of this, I am very very grateful.
I hope you have had a great week and of course I would love to know what you are most grateful for!

Your pastel piece looks wonderful!! I think it's a good medium for you. Your painting reminds me of the snowy days we had where I grew up, and I am very grateful to have had those days which I now remember fondly.

Happy Friday, Ginny! So glad to hear your construction is moving along and your elevator will be put in soon. I am grateful for my health -- I had a suspicious skin growth, but it turned out benign -- yay! Wonderful capture of your special garden. Have a great weekend!

Lovely art work wiht the chalks I like them because they give a soft and mysterious feel. My son that is 20 yrs old loves pastels He does all kinds of abstract art just for relaxation and fun.
This week,..I am grateful for getting accepted into an art show for the very first time. someone decided I was worth taking a chance on and letting me display my art with all the other artists. I look forward tot the fall now because of that and I will be painting with more excitement than ever . ! KAT !

Your Pastel piece Ginny is so beautiful, the colours so restful, very dreamy and soft, love it!
I'm grateful for each new day we have, for swallows slowly coming back to visit and bird song, nature awakening all around, bright Spring magic! Have a wonderful week-end Ginny and so happy for you about your lift, that is great!! My gran had problems and ended up having to leave her beloved flat cause of too many stairs and no lift, so I can fully appreciate your gratitude on this one!

I love the layering, Ginny. I am glad your construction is almost over.
Pastels do take time to get used to, but the colors are so brilliant, if you really let go it is amazing!
