Friday's Quiet Moment of Gratitude

When I started this painting I had nothing special in mind to paint.  I knew there would be water in my painting because there almost always is.  I also knew there would be a mountain or two because they too always seem to appear in my work.  Some people encourage me to branch out and to try something new.  And I do.  But when I have the chance to paint alone, just for me, the theme seems to stay the same.  And I am ok with that.  When we know who we are and what we like the choices become easier.  I know I love water.  I know I love mountains. I know I love soft colors.  We all know what we like.  We all know what challenges us and what provides those quiet soft moments.  Tonight I chose quiet and soft and that felt right.  I am grateful that I am able to experience this type of moment often and then share the results with you.
I would love to know what you are most grateful for this week.

Each Friday I share my paintings and my thoughts with the artists at Paint Party Friday.  Everyone is invited and I promise you that you will meet wonderful and supportive artists from all over the world.  It is great way to start the weekend.

Lots of my landscapes are of mountains. I also love mountains. I am not too good at painting water. Your painting is a joy to view. Soothing and beautiful. Thankful for health.

I think that it is great to revisit images and ideas that you know will make you happy... my whole drawing world would collapse if I couldn't revisit favourite mugs and tea cups... this is simply lovely...xx

I love this picture. You are so good at soft, peaceful scenes like this, and if that isn't a reason for gratitude, then what is?

Love the soft misty look and the colours of this painting. When we paint what we love it shows in the painting I think.

Ginny, your landscapes are always so full of life... and quietness at the same time. You paint what you love, and you should never feel as though you need to sway from that. Your mountains (and water) are always beautiful. xox

It's wonderful to know what you love and to be able to paint it so wonderfully. Your paintings are so peaceful. This week I am grateful for walks in nature.

Branching out and trying something new is wonderful and I love to do it. However, I often come back to what I love and what always seems to sneak into my paintings - and just like you I am okay with that. It is who I am, and I am old enough to say that I'm okay (mostly - there, of course, is room for improvement). I like your quiet painting very much, it makes me feel peaceful.
Believe it or not - this week I am most grateful for the new washing machine we finally received. After four weeks without a washing machine and "dates" with my husband at the laundromat it feels so good to have my own washer again.
