Friday's Moment of Gratitude

Each Friday I write about the things that I experience that I am grateful for.  I have been doing this for about six months and it is a practice that I don't think I will ever stop.  When you take the time to appreciate the world around you and the beauty that it holds if you look for it, life is so much simpler and easier.  Everyone has times in their lives that are hard and for some life is much harder than for others.  I realize that and appreciate how lucky I am.  But I really believe that there is something to be grateful for, for all of us each day. It could be the sunrise or sunset, it could be a smile on a stranger's face or a kind word from a friend. It could be a great cup of coffee, a jog in the park or a walk through the city streets. It could be so many simple things.  I have come to realize that once you do notice the simple but special moments, they begin to multiply while the worrisome things begin to diminish.  This week I am grateful for all of the things I mentioned above and so much more.  I would love to begin a movement where we all take the time to notice and share with the world the things that we are grateful for.  So won't you join me in this movement and share what you are grateful for this week?

Happy Friday, Ginny! I am grateful for getting my health back -- had a terrible cold for over a week -- and now feel so much better! Your practice to such a good reminder for me. Have a wonderful weekend! xo

I don't write in my daily gratitude journal very often. :( Thanks for this reminder to do it.

I am grateful for beautiful autumn weather and lovely fall leaves on the trees!

I am grateful for the realization that the people who really know me and love me count so much more than the ones who know me in passing and make snap judgments. Granted, the second category is LOUDER, but the whisper in the ear is the voice that counts the most.
Oh - and a daily cup of wonderful coffee and the opportunity to share a nutritious meal with my family and exercise daily with good friends are among those things for which I offer daily gratitude - even if I sometimes forget to slow down and say the words!
Thanks for the reminder, Ginny! You are a blessing, too! :-)

Ginny,

Funny you should write about this today. I've been working at noticing things -- good and bad. For example, when I walk the dog outside, I try to be aware of new things...like a feather on the grass or a new version of mushroom I've not seen before.

Doing this makes me stay in the present and often rewards me with a special sight...like seeing a hawk sitting on my neighbors fence only a few yards away. I don't like that they go after my birds, but they are beautiful birds to see. The word for a hawk is FIERCE:~)

Thanks for this post today! Have a great Friday and weekend!
