Today Jamie RIdler asked the question," What do you wish to say no to?" In my workshop, Just for You, we spent several hours talking about how to say, "No". This is not an easy thing to do but the more we know ourselves, our dreams, and passions the easier it is to say, "No" in a firm but convincing way. When our priority list is established, and we are on it, than it also becomes easier to say, "No." At this time in my life, I want to be surrounded by people who are enthusiastic and positive. I love meeting people who are excited by what they are doing and willing to share their ideas. It is great if we agree and definitely fine if we don't (that makes for interesting conversations) but it is important to me that the people I am sharing my time with look through life through positive lenses. So I am saying,"No" to negative people!

How much time do you spend on yourself? It is almost spring and time for new beginnings. What do you love to do? What colors do you like? What are your favorite type of clothes? The more you know about yourself the easier it is to make choices that really make you happy? Take just a few minutes today to think about who you are and what you can do this week to bring happiness to your life. Do you need to take a walk, listen to music, paint your bedroom? What will make you smile, laugh, or feel calm? After you determine what you can do to bring happiness to each day, you will feel so much more in charge of your life. You don't have to wait for someone else to make you happy, you can do that for yourself. Have a wonderful week filled with happy moments.
It's Friday and time to think about what makes me happy each day and in particular what made me happy this week. This is not a deep thought or feeling but to start with my computer worked this morning. Things were not going well last night but this morning everything worked as it should. I would love to say I was the type of person that could work through computer issues without getting frustrated but that is not true. So my computer is Ok and that makes me very happy.
What made me happiest this week was being able to share time with my grandson as he celebrated his second birthday. The way he enjoyed every moment and shared his presents with his brother and the rest of us was a joy to be a part of. The special bond that I watch grow between him and his Poppa makes my heart fill with joy. The way that he finds things to laugh at and then makes the rest of us laugh is a special gift that I hope he will always share with the world. So as I write this, I realize there are things that will make us happy for a moment and then we will forget that they ever happened, and there are also special moments in time that we will remember forever. This week I was very lucky to experience some of those very special moments in time! It's amazing how fast the weeks go. Today is Wednesday so it is time to think about Jamie Ridler's question of the week, "What do you wish to make time for?" I really want to make time for enjoying nature, going outside and planting flowers, and making my small area between the garage and the house look like a Charleston Courtyard. It snowed yesterday and it was so peaceful and quiet but this year I am really ready for spring and all the beauty that comes with it. So for now I am going to look through magazines and learn more about what I should plant so that when the time comes I am ready to create a beautiful spot that I can call my own.
