My goal is to get back to posting three times a week.  I thought Art Every Day Month would be a great way to do this.  Although I am not going to post every day, I am going to try to create something every day or at least think about all of the ways I can and do express my creativity.  The painting above is not very different than many paintings I have done.  But this time I used both oil pastel as well as soft pastels.  It does give the painting more texture but there are lots of things I would do differently next time.  I could go back an work on this some more but I think I will move on.  I want to see what will happen if I work with my pastels quickly and do lots of paintings this month.  It will be interesting to see if I by painting more my skills improve.    I love learning new things about myself as a creative person and by participating in AEDM I can do exactly that.  Is there something different that you would like to learn or create this month?

Hello Ginny, just keep on having fun and experimenting as you do, your soft colors are always so dream like but who knows if one day you need to try something bold and loud....just depending on how you feel. Just go with the flow...it's such fun to play!

Ginny,

This painting is fascinating to me. I love the black figure against the pastel colors. It makes me wonder who the person is and what is his or her intent -- to swim or something more dark.

It's is fun to let yourself play with colors and textures. You do this play very well indeed:~)

"Practice makes perfect".... there's a lot of truth in this saying. When I did the 29 faces challenge and had to draw or paint a face every day, I tried out a lot of new techniques and got better at it. That's one of the good things about these challenges, it forces you to try out new things or work in other ways. I like your painting, lots of nice light colours, in contrast to the dark figure standing there.
