Today, Jamie Ridler of Jamie Ridler Studios asked, "What do you wish to renew?" Last year I worked one-on-one with Jamie and it was a wonderful experience. One of the things I started to do as a result of working with Jamie was to take an Artist Date with myself each week. I usually went out to lunch and then to an art store or book store or I went for a walk and took pictures or to the park and drew. I didn't do anything that cost alot of money and I go out by myself all of the time but there was something special about my weekly Artist Date which usually was on Wednesday afternoon. As sometimes happens in life, even with things we love or enjoy, my date with myself started taking a back seat to other things. It has been awhile since I have gone on an Artist's Date but I would very much like to renew the habit. The only way to renew something is to start - so starting this week I am going to go on an artist date with myself and blog about it each Thursday. If you do something like this, I would love to hear about it.

I LOVE artist's dates!!!
An artist date is a wonderful idea! I'll be interested in seeing your reports on your blog. I was doing photo outings on a weekly basis during the summer and that was really fun. Now I'm taking a photo class and taking pictures every day....feeling a bit guilty, but enjoying it so much. BTW, Happy Birthday!!

It's amazing how transformative artist's dates can be to our energy and equally amazing how quickly they fall off our schedule. Good for you for bringing them back in to your life.
