Wishcasting Wednesday - What do you wish to experience?

Jamie Ridler asked today, "What would you like to experience?" I read the question and then went downstairs to get a cup of coffee and think. I didn't want to answer this too quickly because what I answer I want to make happen. So after thinking about what I am doing now and what I want to do next, I have two answers. I want to take an on-line course about art or photography. I also would love to go to an artist's retreat. I am hoping to learn a lot, have lots of fun, and meet new people who are interested in some of the things that I am interested in. So I would love for you to wish with me as well as give me some suggestions of classes that you have taken or retreats that you have attended and would highly recommend.

What a wonderful wish. I too would love to do a photography class. I did a online course, it was with Kimberly Wilson and it was doing the book The Artist Way, I recommend reading it, it's a great book.

A good friend of mine (and also a retired educator) loves taking classes with Gary Ladd at http://www.grandcirclefieldschool.org/index.php It's an artist's retreat and a class all rolled into one!

As an ecourse addict, I have found the richest courses were ones I stumbled upon via other bloggers who I respected or who had blogs I loved. It is a personal thing. May you find the courses that sing to you ...

I will be attending my first art retreat - SQUAM - in the Fall. Depending upon where you live, they are offering a ByTheSea program as well.

I just signed up for an online photography class called Visual Poetry that begins May 23.

Awe-some! This morning I went hiking and I thought I'd like to return with a camera to take some photos, to just play. I don't take photos, so it was neat for me to think about....

Ginny, here are a couple of online courses you might like.

First, I haven't taken this one yet; I'm taking the July session, but I've followed Jessica's blogs for years, and her tutorials and things are great. This is a photography class: http://www.dotcalmvillage.net/onlineworkshops/adp.html She also offers art journaling classes.

Next, I have taken a few online art workshops here, and they've been really wonderful: http://joggles.com. If you're at all interested in embroidery, I highly recommend the Sumptuous Surfaces class next time it's offered.

I hope this is a good starting point at least. :)
