What If?

Did you know that asking questions increases your creativity?  Questions engage our curiousity which is vital to creativity.  If I am honest, I am a person who does not like change all that much.  I think it is great to be satisfied but I also realize that making changes can be a good thing.  So today as I used my watercolor pencils I kept asking myself, "What if?"  What if I used this color instead of that one?  What if I added more water and let it puddle?  What if I stopped now?  What if I kept going even though I like the way it looks? What if?  I realize I need to push myself more especially since I've dedicated this month to playing with my art. So the question, "What if?"  is going to be part of my every day language from now on.

I'm just curious.  Are you a person who changes often?  Do you experiment with your art?  Do you try new things all of the time?  I'd really like to know.

Each Friday I take time to reflect upon what I am grateful for.  This week I have had wonderful opportunities to collaborate with people I really admire.  It is so nice to be able to work with people who are passionate about what they are doing and share that passion with me.  Julie Jordan Scott from Julie Unplugged shared this quote with me today.  "For all that has been, thanks.  For all that will be, YES."  Dag Hammerskjold.  I think that is a perfect way to express exactly how I feel today.

When you share your dreams and talent with the world, magic happens.  Let the magic begin!

I ask myself a lot of questions... as you are probably aware by reading my blog. I change somewhat...mostly I am trying to find my true style...So I change things up a lot...when I feel under pressure I resort to what I know.
Great post!

I have my cycles when I get bored of what I'm painting and then have to change the subject or more likely size. I have long periods of time when I enjoy making ATC size art. :)

This is nice and dreamy Ginny. I love to be loose with my art and just go with what I feel, it's a relaxing process. I'm enjoying light and fun just now with not too many questions or brain storming. I like to let my soul play and go with the flow.
Blessings dear friend,
Kat

What if is such a good question and good way to approach life. I do experiment a lot and sometimes wonder if I will ever find my special "style", but I'm having fun exploring new ideas in photography, so it's all good. Happy weekend!

Thank you for the mention, Ginny! So kind of you! I live and love questions, consciously. It has become a way of life and oftentimes when I don't know an answer or feel as if I am not equipped to answer instead of saying "I don't know" I say, "sounds like that is a question to walk around with for a while." or something similar.

Love what you are creating, Ginny - so fun to follow along with you via ArtEveryDayMonth yet again!!

Your painting is very pretty. I experiment all of the time, and in fact, get so carried away with it that I feel I need to focus and be more intentional at times. I'm going to use this question technique with myself. Thanks so much for sharing this idea!

Even in hard times there are things to be grateful for.
Going forward in art by asking the right questions.
