Wednesday's Walk - When things don't go as planned

When something goes wrong in your life just yell "Plot twist" and move on.  Zero Dean.com

I saw the above words on Pinterest this morning and I thought what a perfect way to look at life.  We all face plot twists in our life and as KMCC coach many of the things  I talk or write about deal with strategies to move past the twists and turns that life throws our way.  Some people take a deep breath, center themselves and move forward in a different direction.  Some people handle things with humor while others need a time out before figuring out what to do next.

I love the idea of having an anchor or a reframe such as "Plot Twist" to say when things don't go the way I have planned.  My favorite books have lots of plot twists.  When I am reading I love it when something happens that I did not see coming.  Although I like to know what is coming next in my "real life" that is not always possible.  So if I looked at each "plot twist" as an adventure, not an irritant, life could be lots more fun. Just say and writing the words "plot twist"  sounds like fun.  Thanks Zero Dean.com for giving me a new way of looking at an old problem.  I hope everyone will have a great day but if you do encounter any "plot twists" remember you are in charge of what happens next.

Each Wednesday I share a coaching tip. Having an anchor or reframe to use helps when life takes a turn you don't expect. It is something to remind you that everything is ok and that you are in control of what happens next.

I had a few "plot twists" already today so it was the perfect thing for me to see this morning.

Ginny, I love this!! Like you, I love a good book or thriller movie with plot twists and turns I didn't expect (although equally unless it's something good I prefer not to have any plot twists in my own life!I'll now say this (either out loud or to myself the next time something doesn't quite go as planned! Another one I read and love is when someone does something to annoy you (cuts you up on the road for example) instead of cursing or giving them the bird just smile sweetly and say 'peace be with you'. I've tried it and it really works - no point in letting the little things get you fired up inside!

What a wonderful way to reframe our setbacks! I will add this to my "bag of tricks". Another lovely painting, Ginny....you must be painting all the time!

Since my life has been taking some unexpected twists and turns, I adored this post and love the idea of saying "Plot Twist." As a writer, it makes things all more "smileable."

Thanks Ginny:~)

This plot twist thing has really struck a chord with me..! Isn't it funny how a few words can completely shift the way you view something... Thank you for sharing :) I love your painting, the colours are wonderful - it's like the new horizon that could appear after a plot twist
