Wednesday's Walk - Small Steps

This journal page was inspired by a Christmas card. I used watercolor pencils to paint this last year. It has been fun to look back and see what I wrote and critique what I would do differently if I were to paint this again. The intention would stay the same.
Let your life be a painting.  Let your life be a poem.  Osho

I love these words.  The holiday season has begun.  How would a painting or a poem represent your feelings about the season?  Would it be filled with bright colors, people, and be a swirl of activity?  Would it be quiet, calm, and peaceful?  We are all different.  For some the holidays mean a flurry of activity.  It means spending time with family and friends that they have not seen all year.  It means crowds and presents and trees filled with lights  Every corner is decorated and every minute is filled with activity.  For others, the holidays are a time of quiet and reflection. Time is spent quietly alone or with family or friends.  Deorations are minimal but filled with meaning.  And there are those who are somewhat inbetween.  I hope that your holiday season will be the painting or poem or story that you create.  Let this special time of year represent all that is meaningful to you and your family.  Take a moment to think about the holiday season you would like to create and then begin with just one small step to make that dream come true.

I love OSHO and that's a great quote. I usually prefer quiet holidays. I'm not big on the parties and all that. I like family and friends.

This is a good message about considering what you like for the holidays and then setting about making it so. It's so easy to fall into old patterns that may not fit anymore. So, thank you for this:~)

Oh, Ginny - this is so beautiful. I love the quote from Osho and I have also been looking at old work. In AEDM this year I have been working with a couple themes - one of which is "fragments" - the idea it is almost December hasn't really sunk in for me yet. Yikes.

So happy whenever I visit you!

Dear Ginny. I said to my partner yesterday before going to bed ' just a minute I would like to check blog of my favourite lady'. I truly enjoy reading your post because they are so wise, helpful, meaningful and kind and your art is exactly the same: beautiful and delicate. So I thank you Ginny.

i love this. i especially love the shrugged stance of the person... it captures the chill... and the red scarf. i always love red scarves for a brilliant touch of color in the winter!

Your water color is so sweet -- a happy holiday image! The quote is wonderful -- I love the idea of imagining our lives as a poem. I find this season rather overwhelming, and like to retreat to my cozy nest and keep things simple.
