Time to Play

This has been a crazy month filled with ups and downs and twists and turns but it looks like things are beginning to get back to normal.  It is interesting how "normal" can sometimes seem a little boring but how good it looks after a few unexpected and unwanted surprises.

I am glad to be participating in Paint Party Friday again and I have commited to Art Every Day this month as well.  I have decided to use this commitment as a time to play and experiment.  I've gotten my watercolor pencils out again.  The first painting was done very quickly and then I loaded it into the computer.  I played with the color saturation, etc. and I actually like the second picture.  My goal this month is to totally trust the process and to enjoy whatever I create.

As you know I like to reflect each Friday on what I am grateful for.  I am very grateful that I have the time to enjoy painting.  This was not always the case and so this time is very special to me.  I believe that each season of our life is different and special in its own right. Life keeps changing and offering us new opportunities and for that I am very grateful.

When you share your dreams and talent with the world, magic happens.  Let the magic begin!

Hello, how pretty your painting is. I thought it was two different ones before reading. Looks like a daytime and nighttime of the same scene, both are so lovely.
Enjoy getting the paints out again, looking forward to seeing them over the month. I too am embracing whatever art comes to me and not trying for perfection but just enjoyment.

Your drawing is awesome. It's been a LONG time since I used my watercolor pencils. You may have inspired me with your awesome entry today. I'm delighted to read you are trusting the process. I believe that what this AEDmonth is about. Welcome, welcome.

Lovely paintings. They seem to reflect on your ups and downs, of sunshine and rain...have a great weekend!

Oh, Ginny - your work is lovely and filled with life. I am also so glad to read your gratitudes this lovely Friday morning. I am grateful for blue skies, Franz Joseph Haydn, Art Every Day Month.... and the coffee I am currently sipping. I was out yesterday! :-)

Wow, Ginny! I found you again! I don't know if you remember but we participated together in Paula's The Artist's Way back in 2010 (was it the Artist's way?). I had a different blog then (dream with the fishes). Anyway, good to see you again and good to see you're still doing these gratitude Fridays posts! Very nice watercolors! I will see you along the way in our mutual AEDM travels this month. My best!

So glad that you are getting time to play and enjoying it so much. I think I prefer the darker, more subdued colors on this composition, too. It's beautiful!

Lovely atmospheric work. I like the second, more moody one best.
