The Art of Breathing

The art of breathing seems to be everywhere I turn this week.   I am taking a writing class and one of the chapters I read for today's session  talked about the importance of quieting your mind and listening to your own intuition.  It stressed that it would be difficult to quiet the chattering voices in our heads unless we find time each day to sit quietly and breath.  Of course in yoyga we talked about the power of quiet and breathing.  And last week's chapter in the book The Joy Diet was all about the power of "Nothing" which asked each reader to spend 15 minutes a day doing nothing so that they could  find that special sense of peace that we all possess.
Tomorrow I will be working with a large group of teachers and I will spend part of the time sharing with them what I am now putting into practice each day which is sitting quietly, enjoying the moment and hopefully clearing my mind.  Sometimes it is easy but sometimes it is very hard. But no matter what, it is always worthwhile to spend a little time with yourself to learn more about who you are.

I am so glad this worked for you. I use to be a worrier too. I let it go a few years ago.

I am working on quieting my mind everyday and journaling also. You are so right...it is not easy. I know it will be beneficial in the long run.
