"How soon not now becomes never."  Denis Waitley

When I woke up really early this morning I felt like pulling the covers over my head and going back to sleep. But I had things to do and places to go so I got up.  As the morning continued, the energy was just not there to get things done. There are days like this when the right thing to do is to slow down and to rest. That is an important part of the creative cycle. But not today. Today I would be giving in to procrastination and I didn't want to do that.

There are times when we are not ready to begin something new.  There are times when the ideas are just percolating and we need to give them time to do just that.  There are times when we are really tired and the right thing to do is to rest and to take care of ourselves and then there are times when we are truly procrastinating.  It's important to know yourself well enough to understand when you are putting something off that can be done easily, if you would just get started. It's at that time I call on the creativity principle that says, "OK, Ginny just do it.. You've procrastinated long enough.  You're ready to get started.  Take that first step.  It can be small or it can be a giant leap.  But get started."

Have you been putting off something that you would like to start?  Sometimes it is fear of failure that keeps us from starting. Other times it is fear of success that holds us back.  Sometimes we are just procrastinating.  But as Denis Waitley reminds us, sometimes not now becomes never.  And that would be a shame.  The world is waiting for us and for what we have to share.  So I invite you to join me today and to say goodbye to procrastination and hello to new beginnings.

When you share your dreams and talent with the world, magic happens.  Let the magic begin.
                                                                                                                                   Ginny

Create the life you want to live.

Great post! And an extraordinary painting. It could be a view of the mist over a valley or a view of mist over an ocean. Really cool! Love that quote. And so right about knowing the difference between percolating and procrastinating.

I appreciate this post. This reminds me of something I have heard: that a great time waster is indecision - I think that is closely linked with procrastination. When one is undecided what to do, one procrastinates and therefore waste time. You are right, sometimes, we just have to do it. It may take a giant leap to start but we do feel a lot better when we accomplish what we need to do... Thank you for this inspiration. May you have a great week ahead of you.

Oh yes I do suffer from the that fear...and the 'just do it' syndrome! This is a wonderful post. I love your painting... it looks like a beautiful sea bay seen from high above, maybe a cliff? Have a wonderful week ahead!

What a great quote and a great thought provoking post as always, Ginny. I know I can be guilty of procrastinating, usually it's putting off the start of a new painting as there is always that fear that it won't work out how I have painted it in my head. Once you just start though, it will work out, even if it is different from how you imagined, it will come together just as long as you try!

Beautiful painting and I could relate to every word you said.
I was going to start something today but the time just slipped away. Tomorrow I'm going to be ready... let the magic start.
Thanks for the inspiration... I needed it.
Happy PPF to you

Beautiful words and painting! This quote rings so true! You are so right. With the creative process we need to heed it's call because it can slip through our fingers never to be accomplished!

What beautiful artwork. Your words hit home with me. My sister and I were talking the other day about what keeps me from creating, I have always been that way and too afraid to sell what I make. I believe I have a fear succeeding. It was great to read your post today. Really made me think about me and what I really want. Happy PPF! Rasz
