Sun and Sleep equal Happiness

2/19/2010

Happiness this week is very simple -  feeling the sun on my face and sleeping in. This winter it has been very cold and although I like to experience the changes in each  season, this winter it has been really hard to get warm.  So looking at and feeling the sun on my face makes me very, very happy.  Today I slept until 7:30 and that made me happy.  I don't know if not being able to sleep has something to do with the cold and  lack of sunshine but when I slept in this morning it felt great.
I think the best thing about posting on this subject every week is that it makes me realize that it is not the big things that make me happy but the simple pleasures in life that I so often take for granted that are the best.  I hope everyone can join me in a happy week filled with sun, sleep, and laughter.

I'm with you. Yesterday the sun came out and I felt so great. I hadn't noticed that the grey was bothering me. Here's to sun and maybe we will be able to find spring. Have a great week.

We've had a lot of gray days here until recently, and when the sun came out, so did all the people! It does make everyone feel so much happier! You are right about the simple pleasures, which I am appreciating more and more as I get older.

I think the bears are the wisest of all animals, they sleep until the sun comes back and then nap with it shining on their faces.

It's so interesting that this practice of noting our moments of happy is making us more aware of how it is the little things that can bring us happiness on a regular basis. And that's a happy thing. Have a wonderful week!

I love this! This week I've been going to bed a little early, sleeping soooo well and I've been waking up to sun! Even on cold days, the sun has been out, It's been lovely.
