Reflections of a healthy week

It is Sunday the day to reflect on the past week and the healthy things I did or didn't do.  I actually think I may spend too much time thinking or worrying about this subject.  I may live a little bit too much in my head and not spend enough time actually doing.  I did take two wonderful nature walks this week. I really enjoyed them and the pictures I took.  I went with a friend to a not so local orchard (it was quite a long ride but worth it) and got great peaches and tomatos.  My husband and I both enjoyed the tomato sandwiches we made.  It has been a long time since I have eaten one of them.

I am reading the Artist's Way and this week one of the things you are supposed to do is to stop reading for a week.  This is where I put my foot down and said enough is enough.  The author said there were people who really resisted this and I guess I am one of them.  I love to read and I don't think it stands in my way of being healthy or creative.  And that's when I decided I really know how to do both.  I know how to eat correctly, how to exercise correctly, I have the time to do both and so that's what I need to do.  I do think for me this weekly reflection, whether anyone else reads it or not, is helpful.  I know that when I write my Happiness Is.... on Friday it reminds me of all of the wonderful and special moments I experienced throughout the week so I am hoping that by writing Healthy Sunday each week I will continue to encourage myself to make healthy choices each day.  Do you have a routine that helps you stay healthy throughout the year?  Is there something special that you do each day that makes you feel better?  I would love to hear more about the practices that you have to stay healthy.

When I was at my healthiest, I was getting up an hour early every day and walking on the treadmill. Seemed like that set the tone for the rest of the day - I made better food choices, had more energy. I've fallen away from my walking practice this year and it really shows! I'm working on getting back to it (walked this morning - hooray!!) but trying to just take it a day at a time.
