Photo-Heart Connection/Wednesday's Walk

Lsst week I started my own series called Wednesday's Walk which I want to continue today.  I also want to link to Kat Sloma's monthly Photo-Heart Connection so I decided to combine the two.  On my Wednesday's post I want to share a picture that I took during a walk that week and on the Photo-Heart Connection we are to share a picture that we took during the past month that connects with our heart.  The above picture serves both purposes.
This simple picture was taken as I walked out onto my back deck.  I chose this picture to remind myself that I don't have to walk far to find beauty.  I chose this picture to remind myself that as life changes, and it always does, it is important to continue to see the beauty that is right in front of me.  The long walks, the awesome trips, the far away adventues hopefully will still continue to happen.   But it is the every day simple and quiet walks, the trips to the local parks, and the fun times with friends at home that should never be taken for granted but should always be cherished.  This small but beautiful flower appears every year in my flowerbox without any fanfare or help from me.  It is is this type of loyalty that needs to be recognized and appreciated.  The once in a life time opportunities should all be enjoyed and celebrated.  But so should the simple walk out on the back deck!  It is what makes life special not once in awhile but every day!
I would love to know where you walked and what you saw this week.

Such a happy pink flower should be rewarded with a lovely photo! Recognizing and appreciating the beauty right in front of us is so important, Ginny. Great pick for PHC.

As always beautiful art and beautiful words. What did I see on my walk this week? Well actually I saw a black snake. I love all mother earth's creatures, but I have to say I was startled!

What a vibrant flower! No, we don't have to walk far to find beauty. I like the way you talk about the "loyalty of the flower which needs to be recognized and appreciated!"
Flowers bring us into awareness. Nice posting.

Such simplicity and beauty. I wander about locally all the time, it's fun to find things so close to home. - Susan

This is such a vibrant and dainty flower. Something to look forward to as you walk out on the back deck. I too look for the beauty in my own yard. I don't need to go anywhere else.

isn't nice when you recognize the beauty in your own patio, backyard or even in your house? I had the same thoughts last year when I broke a bone in my foot & was confined to the house for days at a time. Beauty in the simplest of things... what a concept.

Beautiful image and I love your words. The colour of the flower is gorgeous. I completely agree with what you say - celebrating the ordinary and everyday is so important. Loved reading your thoughts, thank you for sharing.

Beautiful image and words! I love to go on photo walks, but, like you, I know that there is beauty right in my own back yard. I've taken hundreds of pictures on our property and there's always something new to capture!

Such a lovely sentiment! How wonderful to have this flower come back every year, reminding you of the beauty in loyalty. Thank you for sharing in the Photo-Heart Connection. My apologies for taking so long to visit this month.
