Photo-Heart Connection - Quiet

I have taken several of Kat Sloma's online photography classes.  Now I am hoping to participate in her monthly photo-heart connection which she hosts the first week of each month.  When I was looking for a picture that I truly connected to this month I kept coming back to the above picture.  I'd look at it and then think there has got to be a picture that I took that I connect to more than this but I came back to it again and again so this must be it.  I realize when I look at it I get a sense of calm and peacefulness which is something I am craving right now.  For the next sixty days, my backyard will be filled with construction workers, my dogs will be barking, and my house will not be the quiet oasis I like it to be.  My home usually is my sanctuary but when that is not the case such as now, I can always find  a peaceful feeling by looking at water.  This picture was taken at the lake which is close to our house.  Nothing in our part of the world has been particulary pretty this month but this picture offers me the simple quiet reflective feeling that I am craving so I take it out and look at it quite frequently.  That is why I offer it as my photo-heart connection this month!

Your photo does give a sense of calm and quiet. I can just imagine sitting on the edge of a pond and feeling the warm sun, listening to birds.

Sending you peaceful thoughts... Good luck with the construction project!

I remember when we went through our kitchen remodel and the mess and noise would overwhelm me at times. Having a refuge from that is so important for our sanity. Thankfully, you have a lovely lake nearby that you can visit. Your image does convey a wonderful serenity, Ginny. Hope the remodel goes smoothly!

when everything is going crazy around you it's nice to have a peaceful landing place...your photo is just that. the perfect retreat {if only for just a few minutes} from construction chaos!

Such a beautiful, tranquil photo. I love this stillness of the water. We had major building works a couple of years ago so I know how you feel - it was totally worth it though and at least you have this beautiful lake to escape to. :)

I like the blues and greens in this-and I too find water soothing. you didn't say why for 60 days your little oasis will be chaotic, but I do hope at the end of that time, peace and tranquility will be restored.

First off, I love this image. The light is so beautiful as it shines on the water and the limb! Second, I too love the quiet, peacefulness of water! There's a small creek that runs behind our home where I spend a lot of time just finding stillness!

I also see the branch reaching out for the water . . . as if it's looking for peace too! Great photo-heart connections.

Lovely post, Ginny! It sounds like this photo has shown you what you can do to calm the craziness that is going to fill your life in the next few weeks. Get into nature, find the peace in the water. Amazing what a simple image can share with us! Thanks for joining in the Photo-Heart Connection.

Completely understand what you are thinking here. We struggled to adopt for almost two years and while I love seeing the progress that comes with time and love, I wish the days didnt fly by so quickly. I find it so hard to find balance between creating, mothering and ........
Happy PPF and thank you for the kind comments when you visited my blog.

Wonderful image for PHC. I, too, have been craving those silent times of just being, and I'm doing my best to continuously add them to my day, even if for just five minutes. I hope that you are also able to continue to find some peace and quiet every day. :)

It is always good to know where your peace place can be found.
