Friday's Special Moments of Gratitude

Each Friday I recognize the special moments that I experienced throughout the week.  This week I have to say that I am so grateful that the tornado that criss-crossed through our area missed our subdivision, our street, and our house.  We had rain, our lights went out for a few minutes, and my phone went off in the middle of a conversation.  All very minor inconveniences when just blocks away families were huddled in bathrooms or closets or basements as they heard the roar of a train coming towards them.  I am so grateful that noone was hurt in our area and that people have been there to help each other.  It was just another reminder of how important it is to enjoy the simple things in life and never to take for granted all of the wonderful moments we have each day.
Since the storm the weather has been cooler and it feels like fall.  Fall is one of my favorite seasons of the year and I am so grateful that it is rapidly approaching.
I am also grateful for all of the really great conversations I have had this week with people in person and online.  Everyone seems to be ready to start something new or share an idea or give encouragement and I am really grateful that there are so many women who want to support each other's goals and dreams.  So it has been an interesting week with lots of excitement which then makes those quiet simple moments even more special.  What special moments are you grateful to have experienced?

Another inspiring post, Ginny! I'm so glad to hear that the tornado passed you by. As you know, I've had a great week -- I am so grateful for my family and the privilege of sharing my grandson's first week of life.

Glad you were unhurt. Fall is my favorite season, too. :)

Ginny, was excited to see your post about gratitude. It has been something I have been talking about, writing about, and living a lot lately. I especially love your gratitude for conversations. I have been sharing with my friends about gratitude and find that it is as rewarding to claim your own gratitude as it is to witness another's. Thank you for allowing me to witness yours today.

I'm so glad you're okay, Ginny! Everywhere I look there's some crazy weather-related thing happening. I'm looking forward to Fall, as well. We had a couple of nice brisker days and then went right back to hot and humid, and lots and lots of rain. We finally had some sun yesterday and then all of today. I am very grateful for sun! What a difference it makes in my outlook. And I'm grateful for having come to meet you, here, and to be able to exchange encouragement and support with each other! A very happy weekend to you!

Two special moments: phoning a friend I had not talked to for a year, and really looking at the field by the river, and all the colours in it: green, red, even purples and blues. I am glad you avoided the tornado. And if it had gone over your house, you would have dealt with it.
