Friday's Special Moment of Gratitude

It's Friday.  Where does the time go?  It seems like you blink twice and the week is over. This has been a busy week.  I've decided its time to move forward on my creativity coaching.  Since creating my own business is new to me it can be lots of fun, exciting, and scary all at the same time. Today I created my Facebook Coaching page and that went well.  For some reason Twitter was another story but the result was the painting above.  When I decided it was time to turn off the left side of my brain and turn on the right, I quickly got into the flow of painting and it felt really good.

This week I am grateful for something that happened many years ago but which still effects me today.  Part of my job as an assistant principal was to develop and plan workshops for the teachers.  Something that always frustrated everyone was that we were always jumping on to the latest and greatest teaching methods.  Please do not misunderstand - that is good if you have had time to really understand and implement the method.  But that wasn't always the case.  One year we decided to read the book Who Moved the Cheese as a staff book study. It was a short book, simple to read, and had a great message. It was a reminder that the world changes and if you don't change with it you can at be left behind feeling very frustrated. You don't have to jump on every bandwagon but it is good to be flexible and be able to change when it is necessary.  We all got a lot out of that book.  I still think of it when things change and I am trying to decide how to react to the change.  When my husband was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension the cheese was really moved but we were determined to move with it and make the most of what we could do each and every day.  So this week I am so glad that I read Who Moved the Cheese so many years ago.  It left a strong impact on me.   Is there something that you have read that has changed the way you look at things each day?

I hope everyone has a wonderful week filled with only special moments.  Remember to share your dreams and talents with the world. That's when the magic begins!

I have never read that book. I have heard of it before. I love when I read a book and I can refer to it later on in my life.
I will have to read that! Hoping your husband health improves.
Your painting is lovely!

First off when I opened your blog your painting took my breath away it is so stunning. Quite different from your usual... I love love love it!!

Who moved the Cheese, sounds like a great book. I was just thinking about how important it is to stay current when we age. To stay in the loop of new technology... we may be slower to pick it up but it's important to have tenacity. Otherwise it gets away from us and soon we are in the shadows trying to fight our way back. Clicking a white cane along the pavement in search of viability.
I often think the school systems can be slightly archaic only because the world it moving at such a fast pace and it's way too expensive to keep up... I imagine teachers feel the same frustration.

I have wonderful intuition. For me is was the Celestine prophecy and The Artists way that changed how I view the world and live more in the flow! Wonderful post. This week I am grateful for YOU!!
Thank you for this thoughtful post and the book shout out!

My goodness, Ginny, that's a gorgeous painting! Kudos to you! I smiled when I read about the Cheese book -- our teaching staff also read it together for a staff training years ago. I am starting to accept that life is constant change and that we can't cling to what was, but need to embrace what is.

Totally agree with you on the impact of Who Moved the Cheese. I had to read it for work and it has never left me (or my life). Love your blooms. I think we all are enjoying the blooms around us.

Ginny this is a gorgeous painting, so dreamy and full of summer's scent. I have never read that book, must check up on it, books are special and I always have a book near to hand, there are many that are special to me for different reasons. I love sharing books and stories with my children, story time has always been a favorite time! Blessings to you! xx

Hi Ginny, I always love reading your words and insights. This painting is lovely, I really like the muted look of it and how you blended the colors.
