Friday's Special Moment of Gratitude

Clouds are the sky's imagination.  Terri Guillemets

I love to look at the sky.  I love to look at clouds.  So this week when I got to my art class and the lesson was on the sky and clouds I was one happy painter.  I've decided that for the month of May I will paint at least one picture a day of clouds.  It may be something very small and it definitely will not have to be perfect but I think it will be fun to see what happens after a month of concentrating on one subject.

Each Friday it is my practice to write something about what I am grateful for experiencing during the week.  This has been one of those weeks that would be easy to forget.  It's been very normal.  Things have gone just as they should - the weather has been nice, I've met with friends, I've had time to paint and life has been good.  It is just the type of week in times past that I might have taken for granted and never even though twice about. But since starting this gratitude practice, I've learned how important it is to notice the simple things - the hot cup of tea in the morning, the flower that continues to bloom against all odds. the one special stroke on a painting that turns ok into great.  The more I notice the simple things, the more I have to be grateful for.  The more I have to be grateful for, the more simple things I notice.  So this week I am very grateful for the simple things that make life special.  Is there something simple but special that you are grateful for this week?

Each Friday I link my post to Paint Party Friday and Creative Every Day.  Both are wonderful inspiring blogs to visit.

Remember:  When you share your dreams and talents with the world magic happens.  Let the magic begin.

yay for 'normal' weeks. means there weren't any crises! lovely elegant drawing, so soft and serene. I am grateful for the profusion of violets that popped up in my yard this week...white with purple spots, and some regular purple ones. the white ones I transplanted from my husband's grandmother's garden. it made me think of her...

Such a pretty sky Ginny. I'm grateful for rest just now, I have a Spring cold and have had bad nights with the little one cutting teeth, so just great to have my parents help out and give me a break! xx

So serene this painting is! What do you do on a cloudless day?

I am grateful that a friend I had not seen in a very long time called saying she'd be in town and would I meet her for lunch. I did. And it was like we'd never had a break in our relationship. I love friendships like this.

This is a wonderful post with a wonderful sky. I am meeting with a friend who broke her ankle. She needs some healing friendship.

I'm always grateful I can see so many nice works of art from my humble little apartment through the internet. What a great goal for the month. I hope your thoughts soar in the sky all month.

What a lovely peaceful scene. Such a wonderful quote to go with it. We do have a choice every day to be grateful and I try to make that choice. I'm not always successful and those days don't go well. HPPF

Clouds are the best reason to look up. These are beautiful, and I am glad to hear you had such a normal, uneventful week. I am looking forward to having one of those myself... soon, I hope.
