Friday's Special Moment of Gratitude

It is amazing how a picture can make you feel.  I had fun painting the picture above but when I look at it I feel rather dull and listless.  It's been a difficult two weeks and that is the last feeling I want to experience.

When I look at this picture I know that it definitely needs some work but I love the colors.  They remind me of spring and sunshine and blue skies and water. It makes me feel happy and optimistic and looking forward to what comes next.  It is amazing how color and music and nature can change a dreary day into a bright sunny adventure filled with special moments.  Sometimes I forget that it is not the day but the moment that counts.  But when I take out my pastels and take a deep breath and begin to create even for a short time, I remember what really counts and for that I am very grateful.
What are you most grateful for this week?

Dear Ginny, I love these colors too and completely understand how you feel. Things do not how to be perfect or finished the important is how we feel about them. Thank you for your words and beautiful art. Have a lovely weekend.

Happy Friday, Ginny! The contrast between your two paintings is striking, the second one really is so full of light and energy. I hope things are better for you now and your weekend will be a relaxing one. Take care, my friend. xo

You hit it right on the head! Your top painting, with lovely colors, but muted and dark = our going to have our taxes done this morning.
The second SUNNY BRIGHT painting with it's water way winding down and around leading us to known joys and yet unknown adventures = the fact that I will see BOTH my childlren this month, be with them BOTH at the same place (rare as one lives out of state) and have THREE of my grand kids in my home ... one baby for the first time! It's THAT EXCITING your painting!!!!

your bottom painting looks a bit like the colours we see here in Queensland... our greens are a bit deeper in places but the whole world is blue and green for months... and I am grateful it has stopped raining... well heavy rain... and I can get some washing done...xx

I agree with you, those bright colors are so cheerful and full of light, they sweep away any dullness or blue mood. Isn't the power of color amazing?

isn't it something how when you look at a piece you just did it def. evokes the colors of your mood? The second painting really says happy...and happy PPF!

That lemony green just brightens up everything, and the blue is so peaceful. Both pieces are peaceful to look at. I am grateful that I can find so much art right here on my computer. It takes me out of myself and puts me in a world of color.
