Friday's Special Moment of Gratitude

As I sit here getting ready to type, I can hear the raindrops on the roof.  I love the sound of rain as it hits the window and the roof.  We used to rent a cottage at the beach and I loved to sit on the screened-in porch and look at the water and listen to the rain.  Add a good book and a cup of coffee or tea and it was the perfect afternoon.

Tonight at this minute I am grateful for the sound of raindrops on the window.  I am grateful for the laughter that my husband and I shared with friends over dinner.  I am grateful for the sounds of music that are coming from my husband's office.  I am grateful that the dogs are playing and not barking at the neightbors. I am grateful.

What simple pleasure did you enjoy this week?  What made you smile?  What are you grateful for at this very moment?  I'd love to know.

Please take a moment to visit the artists at Paint Party Friday and Creative Every Day.  I know they would love to meet you.

Your description of sitting on a porch and listening to the rain brought back happy memories from childhood, Ginny! We had a nice rain two days ago, and today I feel grateful for the clean air and sunshine. Have a lovely weekend, Ginny!

The ONLY time I did not like hearing the rain was when the roof leaked and we could never get it to stop. Otherwise, I have always loved to hear the rain and still do. Great memories. . .Blessings, Janet PPF

Such a sense of peacefulness this scene evokes!
I was grateful tonight at work when I was able to rattle off a long list of fair fighting rules to a client, and realized my memory was still really sharp! That makes me ever so grateful!

Lovely painting... I'm so grateful for dinner with my friends this week. I'm grateful my friend loved the homemade cards I made her!

A simple pleasure this week was shooting some arrows with a good friend. It is a weekly routine, but it is so relaxing. I'm grateful for the ability to do this and having friends who enjoy the same sport than I do. Happy PPF and thanks for making me think about being grateful and those special moments in life!

Ah such peace! Your paintings always have such an effect on me, this one is so beautiful, so very peaceful, I love it. We do indeed have so very much to be grateful for, it's so nice to be cosy inside as the rain pours outside, I love enjoying each season to the full with all it has to offer, so making the most of Winter still and looking forward to a mountain break with the family. I'll not be around next week, so wishing you all the best Ginny! xx

That picture made me smile. It's amazing how your painting improves day by day!

I'm about the hear lots of raindrops on my roof. We're due to have storms today. I like rain at night, but not as much during the day...unless, like you said, I have to time have a cup of tea and read a good book. Happy Friday to you, Ginny.

oh how I LOVE the beach! And like you, I also love hearing the rain hit the window while at my art table. I have to say I am most grateful this week that we didn't get snow :)

I love your description of listening to the sound of the rain - I agree there is something wonderful about it when you don't have to go anywhere (and the dogs have already been walked when it was dry!) just sitting listening to it, while you are all cosy inside.
This week I am grateful that the replacement timer switch for our boiler arrived after 5 days of no heating or hot water!

Ginny, this post made me smile. I love your description of sitting on a beach cottage porch listening to the rain. It does sound perfect. And your painting is wonderful, so soft and soothing, it's like a meditation.

Beautiful thoughts! I think it is good to be aware of the things around us. And to be grateful even more! I am grateful for my family and people who are willing to give me good words or a smile. Small gestures mean so much!

Happy PPF!

I like the tranquility of this one... and I am grateful to wake up to a blue sky this morning... we have had so much rain in the last few weeks, which is usual at this time of year, but it is so nice to see the sun, even if it means it will be even crazier hot than it usually is... xx
