Friday's Special Moment of Gratitude

This week my goal was to paint more and I actually did.  Water is my go to place.  I love the way water looks, the way it sounds, and the way it feels and makes me feel. It brings a sense of calmness and peacefulness whenever I see it, whether it be the real thing or a painting.  So water usually finds its way into what I am painting.  I would love to be at the ocean but since that is not possible right now, I try to bring the water to me through what I paint.

It's Friday which also means that it is time to share what I am grateful for this week.  Since beginning this practice many many months ago it really has helped to highlight the positive things that happen each week.  Tonight I watched my grandson have a wonderful time portraying Napoleon in his first grade musical.  He had so much fun performing as did all of the children.  It is so nice to know that his school still values the arts and that the children are able to participate in programs that help them grow in so many different ways.  I am very grateful to all of the teachers who realize that there are many ways that children can learn and encourage and celebrate all of them.

Please take a moment to visit the wonderful artists at Paint Party Friday.  It is a terrific way to start the weekend!

this is lovely and reminds me so much of the beach i walked my dogs on today! i am grateful for the opportunity we got to move to such a remote and beautiful part of the UK where i can go to the beach every day (albeit in many layers of clothes!) and for the chance to volunteer at a local animal rescue centre. thanks for always making me take time to think about these things!

I never paint water but it's my go to place for solace and rejuvenation. I find it a wonderful conduit to spirit!!
