Friday's Special Moment of Gratitude

I am definitely still working on this painting.  There was a time when I would have looked at it and said," time to move on" but for some reason today I see a challenge. I am sure there are many ways that I can make it look a little more completed and interesting so I will take a break and see what I can do with it tomorrow.

There are many things to be grateful for this week.  The doctor said my husband's breathing has improved a little, my sister and her family and friends in NJ are staying positive even though their power comes and goes, and the leaves outside my window are still beautiful just to name a few. I hope that you will join me this week in naming one or two things that you are grateful for.  It is a practice that I started several years ago and it has truly enriched my life.  There is always something that can be improved (like my painting above) but for everything that can be improved there is always something that, even if it is just for a moment, is absolutely perfect. We just have to be ready to notice and  enjoy it when it appears!

To find something to always be grateful for is indeed a great thing to do. Your painting will be coming along, you have a good start. I am grateful that I have the best Sister/girlfriends in the whole world, checking on me every day this week after I was so sick Monday. Blessings, Janet PPF

I have many works in progress in my studio for the same reason you set this one aside until tomorrow. I love all the different colors you've got in your leaves- really captures the feeling of fall! Happy PPF!

I am learning the same things about painting, sometimes it takes a little time and distance to help see what to do next. That photo looks like a brilliant tapestry to me. Maybe your landscape needs to go that way?

Glad you have much to be grateful for this week, your posts always make me take a moment to look over my own list.

Seeing a challenge is a sign of "artist maturity"! I don't have it yet - I give up too easily! Would love to see it finished. Happy PPF

I'm grateful for all the wonderful ppf artists who visit my blog, for the opportunity to get to know all the artists more intimately through their blogs. I'm grateful everyday for my wonderful daughter and her husband who I love as my own child. I am so blessed as I send love and light to those without power, and some without homes. I pray they find healing and love amidst their crisis!

Beautiful photo and lovely work in progress!!

What wonderful colors you've captured in your painting and your photograph, Ginny! I'm so glad to read your good news. I am grateful for getting through a very hard week -- difficult both physically and emotionally. I'm feeling like a new person today!

I am glad your husband is feeling better today. Your fall painting has all the right colors. Can't wait to see the finish. You give a great lesson in your post today.
