Friday's Special Moment of Gratitude

If the only prayer you said in your whole life was "thank you" that would suffice.
                                                                                                 Meister Eckehart, German Theologian
Each Friday I take just a moment to think of all the things that I have to be thankful for.  Since beginning this practice several years ago it is amazing how the list seems to grow and grow and yet many of the same things appear week after week.  It is a wonderful reminder of all that is important to me.
The ocean is very important to me.  It gives me such a peaceful feeling everytime I get to visit it.  It inspires me to try new things and it reminds me that as much as things change they stay the same. It is a place to go where I can rest and relax, think and have fun, and really take the time to fully focus on what it important in life. So I am very excited that we will be planning a trip to the beach soon.  It's been almost a year since I heard the sound of the waves crashing against the beach and I can't wait.  So this week I am very grateful that I get to plan a trip to one of my favorite places.
What are you most grateful for this week?  Is it a special place, person, or memory?  Or maybe it is something else.

I am sharing my pastel with all of the artists at Paint Party Friday and Creative Every Day.  Both are wonderful places to visit.

Ginny, I'm so happy you're going to the beach because I know you love it as much as I do! Have a wonderful time! I am grateful that I feel stronger and healthier this week. Your pastel is fab-u-lous!

Your ocean painting is beautiful! I love the ocean too, it always settles my heart and soul. I'm grateful that I live so near it... Bellingham Bay is at the tip of Puget Sound and just across town from where we live. I don't make the time to go be at the beach as often as I should... I think I'll do that this Sunday for my quiet time. Have fun planning your trip! Happy PPF!

Hi Ginny
I like your painting pastel a lot ! I just purchased some oil pastels ...do you know anything about the rules of pastels ? Can I put oil pastels over oil paint ? How long does it take too dry or does oil pastel stay smeary like chalk does ?

Beautiful pastel. I've been working on a grateful poem all week. I can't imagine living too far away from the ocean...it is such a conduit to healing and rejuvenation! Enjoy your time...I am grateful to live a fifteen to twenty minute drive from the Ocean! Happy ppf

this is lovely - you've really caught the movement of the sea spray with the crashing waves! I also love the ocean - beaches are my favourite place to walk our dogs. This week I'm thankful for surprising opportunities - I think I may have been thankful for that last week to but it is still a work in progress!!

I love this art piece and it has this calming soothing effect on me like all paintings themed on the ocean do but the softness of this palette is really comforting and breathtaking.I love it !

I too am close to the beach. It gives me energy, memories and purpose. I love how you have been able to shape the waves breaking over the rock. It is amazing. Blessings, Janet PPF
