Happiness sneaks in through a door you didn't know you left open.
                                                                                               John Barrymore
As someone who has been on a creative journey for several years, I realize how important it has become for me to do something creative each day.  I also realize that no matter what I am doing it can lead to a creative thought or experience.  This morning when I took the dogs out my mind began to wander.  When I brought myself back to the moment and took a second to really look at the trees, I noticed that the leaves had turned colors once again.  Although they were very different from yesterday, they were all still very beautiful.  A routine moment quickly became a special moment which then led to some creative thoughts and a door opened.  Today as you go through your normal routine, take a second, look around, and see all the beautiful things that are right in front of you.  Then, as I did, take a deep breath and enjoy every single aspect of the gift that has just been offered to you by the world!  I would love to know what special creative moment you have experienced today.

Is that a page from your journal? Your sketch is lovely! I know I get grumpy if I don't find the time for a creative activity during the day. Hoping to go on a photo outing later, down by the river. Have a great day, Ginny!

Your journal page is lovely!

My creative moment yesterday was helping my daughter revamp a triptych I'd painted for my granddaughter's room. The best part was getting to play with my granddaughter....we had SO much fun!

Love the drawing and the beauty of your writing -- it flows:~)

I agree totally with you about stopping and observing...here's my experience.

I took a drive on my favorite canopy road. It's a regular drive for me and I love it. The leaves have really changed and the colors sparkled in the rays of sun through the trees.

My favorite section has oak trees with their limbs bent over the road on both sides. It reminds me of a military wedding with the swords and I'm driving under them. Thanks for this post and allowing me to share this moment.

The best moments are when I'm out in nature and I really notice what's around. Not trees and skies, I notice them all the time and love them but I mean the moments I look at things really closely. To do that I need to stop in order to see the tiny details that are missed when I'm hurrying along.
Thanks for the reminder :) I shall make sure I do this again really soon!

Oh, love your journal page. I've never made an art journal, but I'm planning to try one after the first of the year!! I agree with you, we need to slow down and enjoy!!

Participating in Art Every Day Month in November is the only time I do something artsy every day. The rest might be creative, but is mostly practical.

Guess what? You've received an award:~) Stop by my site and pick it up when you can.

This blogging award is a bit different than the usual "mememe" awards. I found it very challenging. It is also well-deserved.

I enjoyed reading this post and could have written it myself. So many times it's because my dog Lucky has wanted to drag me outside that I see so much change. All around my yard there is change and even the sky is different everyday. I'm so thankful for these walks outside with Lucky and for slowing down to notice the changes.

You wrote and drew this so beautifully, love it.
